Ok, so I've been hard at work building this Mastermind game for you. Now I'd like you to play around with the engine demo. Remember, the graphics are only rudimentary; the purpose of this demo is to bug-test and make certain that everything is in working order before I start plugging in the graphics.
I invite you to have a look - click here to test the Mastermind: World Conqueror engine!
Spawn your minions individually with the green spawn button, or spawn a whole wave of enemies with the red spawn button. Click your base to call back all your minions, or click them individually to retreat them one at a time. Click an enemy within the oval area around your base to send all minions after them.
I know it's basic, but I coded it myself and I'm proud of it, woooo.
Below is the current layout for the strategy aspect of the game. While you're busy defending your base from attackers, you will also be plotting missions and meeting with your patsies (lieutenants) as you slowly take over the world. Each affects the other: executing a lot of high-risk missions will get you noticed by the good guys, and you'll have more and more enemies attacking your base with every wave.

As promised, here are a few samples for Mastermind: World Conqueror. On the left is concept art for a few of the Patsies, who oversee your evil schemes as lieutenants (yeah I know I misspelled the word in the image). On the right is the current setup for the game screen. It looks like a lot to keep track of, but players will be eased into the system and every feature is explained through use. I've been spending more time recently making the menus functional rather than nice to look at, but I'll get to it.
Does one of the characters look familiar to anyone?
And still no word on the interview - I'll add it to whatever post is up top when I get it. |

Whew, so it's been a hot minute since my last update, huh? Don't worry, it's not any kind of disappearing act. I've been planning the new game that you'll be seeing on the site, Mastermind: World Conqueror. The trouble is that it looks like I'll be coding the whole thing myself, which means learning more of Actionscript than I ever thought I would have to.
I'd much rather find someone efficient to code it for me so that it gets done in half the time, but as they say, if you want something done right then do it yourself ;) If I can stumble my way through the coding process to the point that I can at least put all of my ideas into the game, then they will turn out EXACTLY as I have planned, because there won't be any issues with trying to explain my concepts to a programmer.
And that translates to: it'll be perfect if I don't screw it all up.

So that demo clip in the post below this one is for a frame-by-frame practice cartoon I am starting with Julian from Toonimated, and I'm hoping my dedication to the new Mastermind game doesn't draw me away from it. I desperately need the practice, and I am pretty excited about it too.
In other news, I was interviewed for a California-based internet radio show, which I will be linking to as soon as it's archived. I had hoped to wait to post an update until I had that link to give you, but this will have to suffice - check back for updates, as I will be amending this post with the link once I have it.
And stay tuned for updates on Mastermind: World Conqueror! |

Uh oh! Who do we have here?
If all goes well, there will be a new character around the site. Dear lord, just what I needed: MORE AND MOER AND MOAR IT DOESN'T STOP, |
